Save private notes and files in your personal DM
With Slack, you can keep everything in one place. Not only is it easy to share things, but you can also store private notes and files, too. Messages and files sent or uploaded to yourself are searchable and visible only to you — to get started, select your name in your Direct Message list.

Your personal notepad
Your personal DM can be used as a private, searchable, always-accessible notepad. Whether you’re saving works in progress, quick notes, or to-do lists, you can simply send them to yourself.

Tip: Edit your message to strikethrough tasks that you've finished or use an emoji reaction to mark the whole list as complete. ✅
File storage
Drafting a post you haven’t quite finished, or a file you’d like to save for later? You can send files to yourself for safekeeping.
Even when they’re not shared with your teammates, sending posts, images, or files to yourself means they’ll be accessible wherever you go.
