Delete a channel
To permanently remove a channel and all its messages from a workspace, Workspace Owners and Admins can delete it.
Keep in mind
- Workspace Owners and Admins can delete any channel they've joined, except for the #general channel. If you're not an owner or admin, contact one for help.
- To delete a shared channel, stop sharing the channel first. To delete an archived channel, you'll need to unarchive it.
- Files from a deleted channel may still be accessible in your workspace — you can delete them if needed.
Tips: If you don't want to permanently delete a channel, consider archiving it instead to preserve its message history.
